Permaset Supports the #FreetheReef Campaign
‘Many of us ask what can I, as one person, do, but history shows us that everything good and bad starts because somebody does something or does not do something.’
— Sylvia Earle, Oceanographer
The future of the Great Barrier Reef remains uncertain. Various threats, such as illegal fishing, climate pressure, marine debris, agricultural runoff, rapid industrialisation and inadequate legislation could ruin the beauty of this natural wonder. Unless immediate action is taken, this breathtaking barrier that houses the largest collection of coral reefs will be lost forever.
The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world. This world heritage site is composed of 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands.
If the dredging and dumping projects go ahead, millions of plants and animals, including humpback whales, sharks, sea turtles, colourful fish, dolphins, molluscs and other species, will suffer. This is why we need to take action to protect the reef from potential threats.
As part of our commitment to help save the earth and Australia’s natural wonders, Colormaker Industries, a leading manufacturer of Permaset water-based inks for printing, supports the FREE THE REEF campaign to help raise awareness about the threats to the Great Barrier Reef.
Permaset eco-friendly inks is a proud supporter of the FREE THE REEF screen printing tour to help raise awareness about the threats to the Great Barrier Reef.
The Great Barrier Reef supports a wide diversity of life. It is home to 411 types of hard corals, 134 species of rays and sharks, 1,500 species of fish and more than 30 kinds of marine mammals, including Bottlenose dolphins, humpback whales and dugongs.
The Vision of FREE THE REEF Campaign
FREE THE REEF is a live screen printing tour that uses the power of art to raise awareness and the vital funds needed to support the protection of the #GreatBarrierReef. Using SMARTIVISM, conscious business (SMART), inspired artists (ARTISAN) and purposeful organisations (ACTIVISM), the campaign aims to educate, raise funds and facilitate change.
Rallying businesses, artists and the community, the campaign wants to strongly influence decision makers to create future proofing legislation that will free the reef from negative human interventions.
