When you combine your creative flair and focused inspiration, something as simple as a jar of ink can help create a thing of beauty. PERMAPRINT Premium eco-friendly Inks have been helping Australian artists for decades. They yield high quality screen prints and artworks on a variety of materials.
Inks for Paper and Other Substrates
PERMAPRINT Premium Inks are water-based, non toxic screen printing inks ideal for a range of applications, from art reproduction poster prints, to high lay down hand printed wallpaper and packaging, wrapping paper, book covers, slip mats, homewares and more. They are used faithfully by many PERMASET designers and artists to create unique designs. One such user is Australian screen print, design and architecture firm, CDC Creates of Perth.
How CDC Creates uses PERMAPRINT Premium Inks
CDC Creates is a screen-printing business in the heart of Perth, Western Australia. It was founded by architect and designer Caroline Di Costa. The company has produced a range of children’s products, sketchbooks, diaries and notebooks, placemats and coasters using different substrates, from paper to board, cork and other alternative materials using PERMAPRINT Premium inks. Here’s what they had to say:
“PERMAPRINT Premium provides the perfect ink to bring my designs to life. In particular, the Metallic Pearl range inks add depth and texture to a single colour print. The Metallic ink changes as the light conditions change, sometimes almost dissolving into the medium and at other times producing a bright glow. The fact that the inks are environmentally friendly, free of toxic chemicals and solvents is imperative, as CDC Creates operates with a strong sustainable agenda and from a home studio with small children who like to be “involved” in the printmaking process.”

As highlighted by Caroline, using PERMAPRINT Premium offers many benefits to screen printers, fine artists and their businesses. Some of those benefits are outlined below:
They’re environmentally friendly
This range of water-based inks is formulated free of volatile organic solvents and aromatic hydrocarbons. They do not contain PVC resin, phthalates plasticiser and ozone-depleting chemicals like CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) and HCFCs (hydrochlorofluorocarbons). The product is also free from lead and other heavy metals that are toxic.
They add depth and texture to a single colour print
With superior performance and colour brightness, PERMAPRINT Premium is used on various materials (including plastic, cork, cardboard and traditional watercolour paper) and it air dries on glossy and non-porous surfaces. PERMAPRINT Premium Ink sits on the substrate nicely, creating depth and making the print appear three-dimensional.
They can be used on a large range of materials
In addition to these benefits, PERMAPRINT Premium Inks are water-based and very versatile. The inks adhere to a wide variety of substrates, including cardboard, paper, Tyvek, polyesters (e.g. Mylar), polycarbonates (e.g. Lexan), clear PMMA sheet (e.g. Perspex), Corflute, poly-styrene, wood, leather and some coated metals.
They are easy to clean up with water
PERMAPRINT Premium Inks are not only safe for the environment in terms of zero GHG emissions, equipment can easily be cleaned up with water, making them a much safer option than solvent-based inks both for the printer to use and zero organic clean up solvent waste to dispose of.
