Fun project ideas using eco-friendly screen printing inks
Whether you’re looking to branch out with home screen printing or to expand your product line with block printed or hand painted fabrics, there’s a whole world of design inspiration out there just waiting to be found. We’ve rounded up some of the best design ideas that we’ve seen in recent months and highlight some incredibly talented creators who do amazing things with environmentally friendly screen printing inks.
Screen printed face masks
Face masks are a standard accessory for so many people these days, so why not take the opportunity to print up or paint some colourful face masks at home? PERMASET environmentally friendly screen printing inks are ideal for garments that are worn close to the skin, because these inks provide a vivid result without harmful additives, such as PVC or phthalates. We’re loving these modern design face masks, hand printed with PERMASET Inks by designer Kristin Loffer Theiss @kltworks in USA. Read on to find out how she made them.

Screen printed textiles for home
Time spent at home provides a great incentive to transform our living spaces. One of our favourite ideas is sprucing up lounge rooms, bedrooms and kitchens with vibrant screen printed curtains, pillowcases and tea towels. When you print on swathes of fabric, it’s important to choose the right screen print ink; PERMASET AQUA prints beautifully on light coloured fabrics, while PERMASET SUPERCOVER inks give a vivid result on dark coloured fabrics.

3D prints on hoodies and shirts
If you want to take your screen printing to, quite literally, a new level, then why not have some fun experimenting with PERMASET Puff Paste? PERMASET Puff Paste is an additive that can be used with any of the PERMASET Standard or SUPERCOVER Inks or PERMASET Pigment Concentrates. PERMASET Puff prints initially dry flat but, when heated as per the instructions, the expanding agent puffs up and adds a matte 3D effect – you can even use your oven at home to do this.

Big bold wall art
Looking to beautify your surroundings at home? Why not add some ultra-vivid colour with bold wall art? You can create your own bright abstract painting or wall mural using PERMAPLASTIK scenic paints, adding the Glow colours to make your piece really pop.
Fresh blending styles
We love these tri-colour prints by Makani Apparel. If you’re looking to give new life to a classic design, then try a blend print with two or three colours on your screen. Check out our video showing the process of how to print a blend to get started with blended screen printing or ‘split fountain prints’ as they are sometimes known.
